Alice Hopkins-Valdez, Director of Human Resources, joined High Desert Family Services in February 2005. Alice has 26 years experience in Human Resource Management. Her broad background includes working for Fortune 500 firms, small privately owned firms and start-up companies. She has a record of designing strategies and driving change to make organizations more competitive and results-oriented. Areas of expertise include cultural transformation and developing lasting business partnerships. |

Sheilla Allen, Director of Quality, joined High Desert (then MENTOR) in February of 2001. Having worked in both large national corporations and small non-profit organizations she gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in the New Mexico Developmental Disabilities community. She became the Director of Quality in 2005 and quickly implemented several systems and quality initiatives . She has a strong commitment to quality throughout the organization and community. |

Leticia Tafoya, Program Manager, joined High Desert Family Services (then MENTOR) in 2002 as an intern. She quickly advanced through many positions throughout the company. Currently, as a Program Manager, Leticia oversees all child and adolescent services for High Desert. Leticia grew up in Gallup New Mexico and earned her BA degree from the University of New Mexico. She completed her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2002. |

Sheryl Aspelin has worked for high desert family services, (formerly Mentor New Mexico) since 1998. Sheryl began her career in case management working with various populations including individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health issues and the elderly. during the past eight years, Sheryl has demonstrated expertise in various facets of human services including; business office, service coordination and program management. as a program manager for the Roswell program (Southeast region), Sheryl is particularly proud of the care, advocacy and support provided to individuals and families, team development and managing continuous quality improvement for her program. |
